Agrimony

Agrimonia eupatoria

Family: Rosaceae
Herbaceous perennial.  Native to temperate Northern hemisphere.  Curious seeds are a syncarp (an aggregate fruit) with numerous hooked bristles.  The tea of aerial flowering portions is astringent.  Stops diarrhea.    Agrimony tea soothes inflammation of the urinary tract.  Cultivation: Easy, but a little slow to germ.  Sow in greenhouse in fall or early spring.  Transplant out at 2 foot spacing.  Flowers to 3 feet tall.
