Geum urbanum

Family:  Rosaceae
Herbaceous perennial.  Native to most temperate zones on Earth. Roots smell faintly of cloves.  They contain eugenol.  Astringent.  Make a strong tea and swish to treat sore gums, oral ulcers.  Cultivation: Easy. Sow in fall or early spring.  Handsome blue-green plant with small, yellow flowers.  Good subject for poor soil areas or rock gardens.  Space plants 1 foot apart.  Flowers to 1 to 2 feet tall.
