Basil, Kilimanjaro (Kapoor Basil)

Ocimum kilimandscharicum

Tropical perennial, temperate annual,  Native to East Africa.  This is the largest of the many species of Basil, climbing to four feet in a single season. The leaves are highly camphoraceous, used to make a tea for clearing the sinuses and settling the stomach.  In Vedic cooking, the fresh leaves are used to flavor delightful vegetarian dishes.
