Perennial. Hardy water plant utilized for its bitter and aromatic
rhizome. This is an effective digestive aid and is also used to sharpen
the mind. Cultivation: Extra care. Sow in spring in humusy starting
mix and keep moist until germination. Transplant to moist or sodden
soil after the plants have established a good root system. Plant
6 inches apart. Grows 1 to 3 feet tall. Flowers only if growing
in shallow water.
