Centaurium erythraea
Family: Gentianaceae
Self-seeding annual or biennial. Native to Europe and north Africa.
Delicate plants bearing pink-red tubular flowers in flat umbels.
Much easier to germinate and grow than Yellow Gentian, with the same medicinal
activity. To make the tea, pour boiling water over 1 tsp. dry, finely chopped
leaf and flower. Contraindicated when there is stomach or intestinal
ulceration. Cultivation: Easy. Sprinkle very tiny seed
on surface of soil and keep moist until germination. This is the Centaury
we will send you if you don’t specify type.
