Annual. Native of all temperate regions, as far north as the
Arctic. Harvest fresh for a wholesome, succulent and tasty salad
green. Used daily, the herb will assist in weight reduction programs.
The fresh herb can be combined with Plantain and used as a poultice to
draw out abscesses. The dried herb makes a demulcent and healing
addition to salves, lending them a bright green color and a delightful
green odor. Cultivation: Easy. Direct seed in
rich soil in early spring or late summer. Spreading ground cover, flowering
no higher than 1 foot.
