Brugmansia sanguinea
Perennial Tree Datura. Native to high elevation sites in Peru and Chile. Extraordinary, bearing pendulous 6-inch corollas, colored yellow and tinged with red at the apex. Cultivation: Plant 1/2 inch deep in a mixture of sand and loam. Provide bright light and warmth. Do not overwater seeds or seedlings! Average germ time 32 days. Will begin to produce flowers 5 months after the seed is planted. Grows well in cool, moist weather. Protect from freezing. Best in tropics or sub-tropics, southern states, maritime zones, sunny windows or greenhouses.
