Garden of the Druids
Invoking the Magic of the Old World
Mistletoe was sacred to the Celtics, as was the Oak upon which it lived. In the woodlands and glens of ancient Europe, smaller plants flowered and twined below the oaks, dappled with sunlight, browsed by the deer and picked by the Druids for making their medicines. Although the ancient healing ways are somewhat obscured by the mists of time, growing these plants helps set the stage for bringing back a little of the old wisdom. May your garden be as durable as a bough of Holly, and as pure as the dew on the Lady's Mantle. The collection includes individual packets of:
Angelica
(
Angelica archangelica
),
Blue Vervain
(
Verbena officinalis
),
Bilberry
(
Vaccinium myrtillus
),
Holly
(
Ilex aquifolium
), and
Lady's Mantle
(
Alchemilla vulgaris
).
