Annual.  Native to the Mediterranean.  Aromatic foliage bearing white flowers with distinctive blue markings.  Warming to the digestive tract.  Absorbs toxins.  Anti-diabetic.  Lowers cholesterol levels in the blood.  As a cover crop, Fenugreek breaks up heavy soils, contributes nitrogen and organic matter.  Cultivation: Easy. Germinates in cold soils.  Direct seed in the fall.  Sow packet quantities in a row in the garden. Thin to 6 inches apart.  Requires 1 to 2 lbs per 1000 sq ft, or 35 lbs per acre.  Will germinate and put on substantial growth before the ground freezes.
