A generous blend of seed of Calendula, Echinacea purpurea, Elecampane,
Feverfew, Motherwort, Wood Betony and Yarrow. These herbs all self-seed
in nature, so with a little help from a gardener they will sprout and grow--a
bit of medicinal prairie right near your back door. This is a great
gift for a young person, beginning gardener or just about anyone interested
in growing or utilizing medicinal plants. Cultivation:
Easy. Prepare a fine seedbed in fall or early spring and scatter
seed evenly, working it in shallowly with your fingers or a rake.
A thin mulch of organic compost strewn on the soil surface will assist
growth. As the seeds come up, thin plants to 2 feet apart and keep
cultivating, watering and weeding. The butterflies and your own spirit
will love it. Covers approximately 200 square feet.
