Solidago canadensis
Family: Asteraceae
Herbaceous perennial. Native to the eastern and southern United
States. The flowering plumes are beautiful and, contrary to popular
belief, they do not cause allergies. Indeed, the tea or tincture
of the flowering plant is a great urinary demulcent, anti-inflammatory
and diuretic. Cultivation: Easy. Sow seed very shallowly
in flats or direct seed. Will eventually form a good stand if kept
cultivated around and cleared of other weeds. Plant 6 inches apart.
Grows to 5 feet.
