Family: Lamiaceae
Herbaceous perennial. Native to the eastern and southern United
States. This wild Kentucky strain bears striking white flowers spotted
with purple. The plant likes moist, shady areas and will grow in
much the same habitat as Goldenseal, for which it is a natural companion
plant. Cultivation: Easy. Sow seed on surface
of flat and press in. Keep moist until germination. Transplant
out to garden or woodland, 1 foot between plants. Grows to 4 feet tall.
