Tropical perennial; temperate annual. Native to Southern India
and New Guinea. Contains an inviting essential oil which has a scent
of violets and lemon. Thai soup herb. Medicinally, the anti-inflammatory
tea is employed by the Vietnamese for treating cholera and rheumatism.
Cultivation: Easy. Light-dependent germinator.
Average germ. 12 days. Keep plants indoors or in the garden
in a sunny and moist place. Plant 2 feet apart.
