
Agastache foeniculum
Family: Lamiaceae
Herbaceous perennial. Native to Ontario and the central and near-western
United States, including Colorado. Beautiful, purple racemes produce
a delicately aromatic nectar. Makes a salubrious sun tea, tasting
of Mint and Fennel. Carminative and flavoring agent. Cultivation:
Easy. Sow seed in greenhouse and transplant, or direct seed
in spring. Space 1 foot apart. Makes a fine set of flowers
even in the first year, growing 3 to 4 feet tall.
