Pippali  (Indian Long Pepper) (Jaborandi Pepper)

Family: Piperaceae
Tropical perennial dioecious woody vine.  Native to India.  A relative of Black Pepper and Kava Kava, the creeping Long Pepper of the Ayurvedic tradition is graced by deeply lobed, dark green and shining leaves.  Alterative and tonic used for treating indigestion, cough and asthma.  Cultivation: Sow seed in a warm place.  Plant outdoors in Southern  States or tropical places only, otherwise indoors plant or greenhoused.
