Red Clover

Trifolium pratense

Family: Fabaceae
Perennial cover crop.  Native to temperate Europe and Asia. This lowly blossom is actually the most useful anti-cancer herb we have in our repertory.  The positive effects of drinking the tea of the dried blossoms accrue over time, characterized by a thinning of the blood and complete cleansing of deadly toxins from the system.   The plant is also cleansing and fortifying to the soil.  The roots of Red Clover dig deep, fix nitrogen, break up hardpan and oxygenate the soil.  This further assists in the breakdown of organic matter into humus and converts soil minerals into plant nutrients. This is all food for earthworms.  Sow directly in newly tilled field in fall or spring.  One oz. covers 125 square feet, 1 lb. covers 2,000 square feet. Use 10 lbs per acre. Fixes approximately 140 lbs of pure nitrogen per acre.   If legumes have not been successfully grown in your garden spot or field previously, the seed should be treated with rhizobium inoculant prior to planting.

Rhizobium inoculant:  For Red Clover, Bundleflower and other leguminous seed (indeed any member of the family Fabaceae), improving their germination, growth and nitrogen-fixing capacity.  Simply moisten the seed, add the powdered inoculant, stir it around and plant.
