Family: Primulaceae
Creeping annual.  Native to Europe, temperate Asia, North Africa, North America and Australia.  This very attractive ground cover will quickly fold away its delicate red flowers when the sky becomes overcast.    The leaves are tinctured fresh, used at low dosage as a diuretic and urinary emollient.  Cultivation: Easy.  Sow in spring.  Space plants 1 foot apart.  Flowers to 4 inches.
