Family: Brassicaceae
Annual or overwintering annual.  Native to Europe and Asia.  This herb is an efficacious hemostatic agent, mainly used to stem excess menstrual bleeding or post-partum hemorrhage.  Cultivation: Easy.    Sow seed in summer or fall.  The plants grow well in heavily- manured soil, and they grow best during the cool months.  Thin to 6 inches apart.  Flowers up to 18 inches tall.
