Herbaceous perennial. This is one of the largest and in my opinion
most beautiful of the native American Orchids, found growing in streams
in the southwestern and western states. Cultivation: Extra care.
In the early spring, prepare small patches of soil in the bank of the nearest
spring, stream or pond by pulling out grasses, moving rocks etc.
Sprinkle the seed on top of this moist soil and press down.
