Aletris farinosa
Family: Liliaceae
Perennial. Native to southeastern United States. Important vanishing
medicinal. The rosette of grass-like leaves gives rise to a single
erect stem bearing multiple urn-shaped mealy-surfaced flowers, white or

it is now found in only a few scattered localities. Cultivation is
thus of paramount importance. Cultivation: Extra care.

soil, press in, and keep moist until germination. Grows in sandy
soil, in the full sun. Likes water, but does not sit in water.
Plant 6 inches apart.
