Herbaceous perennial. This is an upright Vervain native to America,
the “official species.” Flowers in multiple, long-lasting, handsome
spikes of bright blue flowers. Bitter remedy for indigestion, colds
and fevers. Cultivation: Extra care. Seed requires cold
conditioning before it will sprout. Sow in very early spring, or
refrigerate in moist medium for 2 weeks before planting in the greenhouse.
Emerges in about 12 days. Transplant 1 foot apart. Grows to
4 feet tall.
